A Message from Major Greene

​

I am a native of Lenoir County, and I graduated from North Lenoir High School in 1989. I joined the U.S. Army at 17 years old and served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm at Ft. Bragg NC, with 18th Airborne Corps., US Army Garrison Military Police Company.

As a second-generation law enforcement

officer, I began working at Smithfield

Police Department in December 1991

as a patrolman. In 1993, I began

working as a Deputy Sheriff with the

Lenoir County Sheriff's Office in the

Patrol Division. I was the Narcotics

Division supervisor and one of the

founding members of the

Special Response Team, becoming

its Team Commander in 1999.

In 2001, I became a Magistrate in

Lenoir County until 2008,

when I was recruited by retired

NC Court of Appeals Judge Joseph John,

to be a Hearing Officer for the

NC Division of Motor Vehicles.

I managed Driver License Hearing Operations in 53 counties in North Carolina, and all hearings for the License and Theft Bureau and Franchise Dealer Hearings Statewide.

I retired from State service in September of 2021 as the Chief Hearing Officer of the Eastern Region. I came back to the Sheriff's office in August 2021. Under Sheriff Rogers, I have served as Captain of the Patrol Division and Support Services Division, Captain of Training and Logistics and, am currently serving as the Major of Operations.
