A Message from Captain Smith

​

I am a lifelong resident of Lenoir County and began my career with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 as a patrol deputy. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, I have steadily advanced through the ranks, serving in a variety of roles throughout my career.

​

Over the years, I have served as a

Patrol Deputy, Juvenile Detective,

Sergeant of Investigations,

Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant,

and Captain of Investigations.

I currently serve as Captain of

Training and Logistics, where I

continue to contribute my

experience and leadership to the

agency.

Throughout my career, I have

completed numerous continuing

education and professional

development programs. I have

successfully completed both the

North Carolina Justice Academy

Leadership Certificate Program and

the Justice Academy Leadership

Institute Program, further

strengthening my leadership skills

and commitment to professional excellence.

​

My dedication to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens I serve has earned me a distinguished place in the department’s history as its first female Captain. While this accomplishment is a significant milestone, I consider my greatest honor to be serving the citizens of Lenoir County.
