The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services throughout more than 400 square miles of Lenoir County and serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the town of LaGrange. Our deputies and professional staff perform a wide range of duties working every day to protect our community, respond to calls for service, enforce the law, and provide assistance to those in need.

The Sheriff is elected by the citizens of Lenoir County and serves as the county's highest elected law enforcement official. The Sheriff is committed to serving the citizens of Lenoir County, building trust through transparency, strengthening relationships within the community, and maintaining a proactive approach to public safety. The Sheriff is also committed to supporting the dedicated men and women who serve the citizens of Lenoir County each day.

Under the leadership of the Sheriff, the Sheriff's Office carries out a wide range of responsibilities, including providing court security, serving civil process papers, operating the W.E. "Billy" Smith Detention Center, transporting prisoners, investigating crimes, overseeing the sex offender monitoring program, enforcing the law, and responding to calls for service throughout Lenoir County.
